About the Role

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and inventory management.

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring timely collection of payments from customers.

  • Process vendor payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment terms.

  • Monitor and report on cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial reports.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales tax reporting.

  • Maintain accurate records of brewery-specific transactions, such as excise taxes and production costs.

  • Work closely with management to provide insights into financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings.

  • Collaborate with external accountants for audits, tax preparation, and other financial matter

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role, preferably in the food and beverage or brewery industry.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Knowledge of brewery operations and associated financial processes (e.g., excise taxes, production costs) is a plus.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

  • Familiarity with inventory management and cost accounting is a plus.
